Pick of the Week: Lightmode Helmet Kits

Lightmode Helmet Kit
Lightmode Helmet kits are the product of a hugely successful kickstarter campaign bythe Canadian founder of Lightmode, the first electro-luminescent helmet lighting kits for motorcycles. In January 2016 Lightmode helmet kits landed in the UK with the first stockists... LDMotorcycles.co.uk and since then a lot of UK bikers have embraced this badass safety device that doesn't just make drivers aware of you, it also makes you the coolest rider in town!

'Tron Helmet'

When it comes to motorcycle safety and being seen out on the streets when the sun goes down then there isn't a much better solution than extra lighting, and tie this in with the look of a futuristic film design like TRON and people are no doubt going to take a double look when you go past or approach a turning.

The Lightmode helmet kits are available in two different kit variations, Electron & Proton...

Electron Kit Components

  • 3 metres of Electro-luminescent wire (not fragile LED like other light kits)
  • 50 cm of Electo-luminescent tape (yes it can be cut!)
  • 3-Mode controller box with a curved adhesive mount allowing you to switch quickly between solid light and 2 flashing modes
  • LightMode Helmet Glue & Helmet Glue Accelerator to keep your kit intact at any speed you travel at...
  • 8 cm controller extension wires
  • 3 meters of design string & PVC mounting stickers to mock up layouts before applying glue

Proton Kit Components

  • 4.5 meters of Electro-luminescent wire for more freedom when laying out your design.

Each type of kit is available in a huge range of colours, each with a brightness rating direct from the manufacturer so you know what to expect when you power up your lid. Check it out below:

Two AA batteries are required to power up your kit and will keep you lit for 10+ hours on constant lumination depending on the quality of your battery selection!

'Is that even legal?'

We get this a lot since UK bikers are so used to most modifications carrying some legal implications, but you'll be glad to hear that UK road law does not restrict lighting attached to the body of a rider, only the vehicle itself.

Note- After recent popularity, Lightmode helmet kits are on a 2 week back order however you can still get yours now here
